Fall Time

Wednesday, October 12, 2016

Well summer is long behind us and the cooler weather is here. The children are having a blast going outside and playing with all the leaves. It is definitely chilly outside but the children still enjoy a little time outdoors. Please make sure to have proper outdoor gear for your child: jacket, boots, mitts, hat, slush pants. We would rather have the children bundled up and warm than freezing their little fingers!!!!

We have all settled into the school routine. All children have been placed in groups at preschool so please check out the parent board as you enter the building to see the list of groups.

Halloween is right around the corner and the children are getting very excited about that. Children will be allowed to wear their costumes to daycare but please no masks or weapons. Preschool will be having a Halloween party throughout the day and more information to come.

Please make sure you inform us of any changes to your phones numbers, addresses, pick up lists etc. It is very important that we are always able to get a hold you in case of an emergency.

Have an amazing Fall and stay warm :)

Happy Spring

Wednesday, May 11, 2016

It is finally spring time, although its hard to figure out what to wear for the day. Its freezing in the mornings, but by the afternoons its beautiful and warm. In any case, please make sure your child has appropriate clothing in their locker. Its ok to leave shorts and t shirts in the lockers and we will be happy to change them if its too warm.

Preschool and School age have been lucky enough to purchase muddy buddys to use for outdoor play in the rain and mud. These are one piece water proof outfits. Please remember these are daycares and if you see them in your childs locker please leave it there.

We have already begun to plan for summer field trips. We once again have use of a 16 passenger bus to transport children on field trips. Details for summer plans will be out by mid June.

Preschool is once again planning a Two Week Outdoor Challenge. It is currently in the works and we are trying to figure out when it will be happening but we will make sure to let you know as soon as details are available.

Reminder we are closed for the Manitoba Child Care Association Conference on May 27, 2016. Each year we are closed for professional development on this day. Please find alternate care for this day.

We hope you have a fabulous spring!!!!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

We hope everyone had an amazing holiday season and have slowly got back to the normal daily routines.
We definitely have at preschool and school-age. Children are back from their holidays and back at school.

We are enjoying the nice weather and been taking the children out everyday so please make sure your child has everything they need for outdoor play: boots, ski pants, jacket, hats, mitts, and scarf.

Please make sure your child has extra clothing in their locker. With messy activities and water table play, sometimes the children need a change.

Letters have gone out for a Lord Roberts Children's Program Wine Raffle. We are asking parents to:
1. Bring in their favorite bottle wine to put in the draw
2. Sell tickets for the raffle.
This is our fundraiser this year to raise money for summer activities and field trips so please help out in anyway that you can. More information is in the letter sent home

Happy Winter Everyone!

Fall is Upon Us!

Tuesday, September 22, 2015

Summer has past for another year. We had a great summer filled with a lot of great field trips and activities and of course our outdoor daycare challenge. Outdoor daycare was a huge success. Children had a great time sleeping, playing, and eating outside everyday. We were very lucky with the weather as well. Only 2 days where we had to come in early due to rain. We look forward to planning next years challenge.

We also started off summer with a messy but fun mud day. We had 3 yards of soil dumped near the ice rink in the back. Children had a great time jumping and rolling in the mud and playing in the water.

Once again we were fortunate enough to have our daycare bus to use for field trips. Thank you to all the wonderful parent volunteers and donations for field trips!

Children are all back to school and our regular routines have begun again. At the preschool site, each child is given a group. Please refer to the bulletin board to your right as you enter the building to see which teacher your child has.

We still go outside everyday (since the weather has been so nice), so please make sure your child has a hat at daycare everyday. The weather can be unpredictable so please make sure to have a jacket sweater for your child for those colder days.

we hope the nice weather continues throughout the fall season and the snow stays away for a very very long time!

Happy Fall

Summer Fun!

Wednesday, July 8, 2015

We are so excited that summer is here. The warm weather has arrived and the fun has begun.

Preschool completed their 2 week outdoor daycare challenge in June and it was another huge success. The children had an amazing time spending snack, lunch, and nap outside. We did have a few days where the weather did not cooperate and we had to go inside, but overall it was great. Thank you to all our wonderful parents for your support and encouragement throughout the 2 weeks.

Preschool and our School- aged Kindergarten children had a great time during mud day on June 30. We had 3 yards of soil delivered to us and pools were set up for the children to get messy and have some fun... and they sure did!

We have sent home calendars and information of our summer activities. Any questions please let us know. Please also remember that we cannot take all children on every field trip, so make sure to check the permission forms located at both sites to see if your child is on the field trip. We will do our best to make sure all children get to go on equal field trips.
Some field trips have a cost to them. Please give what you are able to donate.

Please remember your child's hat everyday, proper shoes (no flip flops), and extra clothing in lockers incase of messy/wet play.

We hope everyone has an amazing summer!

Is It Really Spring?!

Wednesday, May 6, 2015

We are so excited that the warm weather has finally arrived. We are looking forward to spending as much time outside as we can. Please make sure your child is dressed accordingly to the weather. If it is raining we may still go outside so please make sure your child is prepared.

With summer fast approaching we are getting ready for summer field trips and activities. Both the preschool and school-age sites have been working hard to organize fun stuff throughout the summer. Keep a look out for a calendar of events coming out in June.

The preschool site is once again participating in the TWO challenge (Two Weeks Outdoor). This will be from Jun 8- 19. We will play, eat, and sleep outdoors for 2 weeks straight (weather permitting of course). More information will be sent out shortly (so our new parents will know what to expect and what will be needed). We are looking for volunteers so if anyone is able to volunteer during these two weeks please let the staff know.

A few reminders:
- preschool parent night will be on May 14, 2015- This is a great opportunity for parents to get to know the staff a little better and learn what their child is doing at the centre, and how they are doing.

- we will be closed Friday May 22, 2015 for the Manitoba Childcare Conference. Both the preschool and school-age sites will be closed so you will need to find alternate care for this day.

- please make sure you let staff know of any changes to your phone numbers, addresses, work information, pick up authorities etc. It is important we have up-to-date information in case of an emergency.

We hope everyone has a wonderful spring.

We are going outside everyday (definitely taking advantage of the weather) so please make sure that your child is properly dressed: ski pants, boots, jacket, mitts, hat, and scarf.
